Downtown Mt. Pleasant, also known as the Central Business District (CBD), functions as both a Principle Shopping District (PSD) and Tax Increment Financing Authority (TIFA) District.
Principle shopping district governing body
The activities of downtown Mt. Pleasant are governed by a seven person Board of Directors called the Downtown Development Board (DDB), which includes property and business owners, residents, non-profit entities, education and government representatives. The DDB meets monthly on the third Thursday at 8:00am at City Hall in City Commission Chambers. Meetings are open to the public.
